The article is devoted to an empirical study of the features of personnel motivation to increase the effectiveness of the organization’s activities in the conditions of martial law operating in Ukraine. The results of descriptive statistics, comparative and correlational analysis of the obtained empirical data are presented. The study showed that the respondents are characterized by a moderately high and medium level of motivation for success. For the studied group of people, the situation in Ukraine is stressful. However, despite this, the majority of respondents remained in Ukraine after the start of the full-scale invasion and continue to work. Dominant motivations to perform one’s job well, despite the threat to one’s life, are: faith in a better future and victory of Ukraine, love for one’s work and support of loved ones. The main coping strategies that help respondents to overcome anxiety and stress in war conditions are: faith, communication and reason. Average values of indicators of professional motivation are presented, all of them are at the average level. It was found that it is important for the interviewed persons to work in good conditions and a safe, comfortable environment, as well as to receive clearly structured work and high wages. According to the results of a comparative analysis of professional motivation, men have a somewhat more important need for clarity in the performance of their work, unlike women. Correlation analysis showed that the level of professional harassment decreases with age; the more experience an employee has, the more he tends to perform clearly structured work; with the increase in the researched desire for success, the need for clearly structured work and understanding of the work tasks that appear before them increases. The prospect of further scientific research is the study of the motivational profile of the individual, thanks to which managers will be able to most effectively influence employees who are forced to work in war conditions.
