THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF THE STUDY OF PERSONAL MATURITY AND ITS COMPONENT FULFILLMENT

The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the main approaches to defining the essence of personal maturity and substantiating its main component characteristics. On the basis of a thorough analysis of the scientific and theoretical approaches of Ukrainian and foreign scientists, the author’s definition of the phenomenon of personal maturity was formed, according to which personal maturity is an integral property of an individual, which includes such personal traits that ensure his responsible attitude to activities, constructive activity, harmonious and effective functioning, creative implementation of life plans and tolerant interaction with people. It is indicated that both the external conditions of socialization and the individual psychological features of the individual affect the formation of personal maturity. Objective factors hindering personal maturity are considered. It is noted that at the current time, within the framework of psychological science, personality maturity is an integral factor of psychological well-being. The concept of the component content of the phenomenon of personal maturity has been expanded and deepened. Based on the generalization of the studied material, the structural components of personal maturity as a systemic formation are outlined, which includes: self-regulation, independence, creativity, intellectuality, sociability, morality, responsibility, ego identity, empathy, self-acceptance, authenticity, transcendence, self-actualization. The criteria of personal maturity are determined, which are evidence of the process of personal growth, movement in the direction of self-actualization and self-transcendence. The prospects of further scientific research are identified, which consist in a more thorough study of the conditions for the development of the component content of the phenomenon of personal maturity of psychology students as a foundation for professional development and full functioning in today’s crisis conditions.
