SELFIE PHENOMENON AS A METHOD OF PRESENTATION «I» IN CYBERSPACE

This article deals with the current phenomenon in modern society – selfie, which is rapidly gaining popularity among users of social networks. The article is devoted to the study of basic psychological determinants and causes of selfie. The author describes the main approaches to the treatment as a means of self-presentation of its own «I» in virtual space. The main causes of the passions of people to selfie entail forming false «I», confirmation own existence, lack of real experiences tool to attract attention, compensation absence of self-esteem.
However, selfie helps to express their identity, allow you to experiment with your own image «I», which helps to develop creativity.
Psychologists often describe a negative and destructive role of the selfie in the personality development and determine his obsessive-compulsive disorder. This disorder has three stages.
The first stage of the disease is associated with episodic photographing themselves about three times a day, but a demonstration of all photos. The second stage of the disease is acute phase. Person makes photos herself three times a day, and taught all pictures in social networks. The third stage – chronic and uncontrollable desire characterized photograph themselves round the clock, putting photos on the Internet at least six times a day.
Generally, people using selfie are satisfied with two important needs: the need for socialization and the need for self-expression.
After exhibiting portraits people feel confident and positive respectively formed its «self-concept».
Selfie also plays an important role in shaping the image of the individual as a person, showing photographs of various subjects and provocative content runs the risk of a variety of experiences and attitudes of others.
