THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF THE DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOR OF THE INDIVIDUAL IN THE EXERCISE OF PERSONAL CHOICE

The author analyzes destructiveness as a powerful phenomenon of influence on human behavior and his/her personal choice. In particular, theoretical analysis of such destructive forms of human behavior as aggression, intrapersonal and interpersonal conflicts, loneliness and deviant behavior is carried out. Destructive behavior is considered as a powerful mechanism that deviates from the most important social norms, causes harm to society and leads to social and psychological maladjustment.
One of the forms of destructive behavior such as aggression is regarded by scientists as aimed conscious behavior of one person against another one or a group of people. In most cases aggression appears in response to frustration and is accompanied by emotional states of anger, hatred, and strife.
The first approach to understanding aggression is deep psychological that interprets aggressiveness as traits inherited by a person on the level of instinct, natural need. Another approach is frustration- cathartic that explains aggressiveness as a typical, characteristic for the individual way of discharging the mental state of tension. The third approach to explaining the aggressiveness is based on the idea of alienation.
The conflict is manifested as an intra-personal dispute that is perceived and experienced by a person as his/her significant problem that requires its solution and activates the inner work of consciousness, designed to analyze and overcome this problem. Every person is an independent generator of conflict that is a person constantly creates and recreates internal conflicts, and stands as their carrier. Foreign scholars interpret deviant behavior as the one which does not meet the generally accepted norms and standards in society. The main manifestations of deviant behavior typically include: alcoholism, drug addiction, suicide, and smoking.
The article deals with the concepts and approaches to understanding the wrongful conduct, common features, characteristics, socio-psychological mechanisms of destructiveness.
