Non instrumental means of detecting information through verbal and non verbal channels acquire particular importance within the polygraph research. Fixation of gestures, voice, facial expression features, linguistic markers, including manifestations of autonomic nervous system, allow the polygraph examiner to make conclusions about the accuracy of the information reported by the individual.
Due to the analysis of the received information by the mentioned channels, the polygraph examiner is able to outline the idea about the researched person, identify the risks, and develop his own strategy of behavior in relation to a particular person during the polygraph investigation.
The research and the experience of application of different types of projective material which is based on psycho-diagnostic methods (Songdo Test, Test Dembo-Rubinstein, etc.) are of a special value. Thematic technique of Morgan interview (MITT), which presents positive results in the investigative practice and in testing on a polygraph is efficient in application and is tangent to the mentioned tools.
Ukrainian polygraph researchers successfully use fragments of different methods of psychological assessment of the provided information reliability (Interview of judicial assessment – FAINT; V.A. Shapovalov author technique of psychological examination by the video materials of investigation, etc.).
The main objective of the usage of projective techniques in the process of the polygraph research is to appeal to the profound material of person’s sub consciousness, which allows gaining valuable material regarding personal profile of the researched person via neutral unstructured symbols.
