EMPIRICAL RESEARCH OF FAMILY IDENTIFICATION: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF ITS MANIFESTATION

The problem of family identification is revealed in the article. Empirical results of family identification of student youth are presented. Conducted regression analysis points out the indicators that explain the "family identification" among young people. Thus, students who are identified with their parents' family, are brought up mostly in the families with the focus on achievement, value and support of family relations.
The comparison of persons with high and low levels of family identification is carried out. Thus, a person who shows a high level of family identification describes his parents’ family as one that takes into account all aspects of personal growth of each of its members. This family is characterized by organization and control of the family system, cohesion and manifestation of expressiveness, which indicate great financial and emotional parent’s support for young people. Mother plays an important role in the formation of high level of family cohesion at the early stages of family life, and father plays an important role at the stage of separation of the young person. Students with a low level seek for achievements in future work and have realistic expectations, which are based on their capabilities.
Sex differences of people with high level of family identification are researched in the article. The girls consider flexible general education, preserving moral and ethical standards in the family that contributes to the development of personal and relational orientation in the future live to be of great importance. Contrary to the girls, boys show a strong performance on the scale of control in the management of the family system and father’s leadership. Thus, flexible general education, moral and ethical standards in the family, self orientation and relationships with others (for girls), family control and father’s leadership (for boys) are those key indicators that provide a high level of family identification of student youth.
