Abstract

The article reveals the essence of the concept of «creativity», examines the relationship between the degree of manifestation of creativity and self-esteemation, gives recommendations for practical psychologists and teachers about the diagnosis and development of pupils’ creative abilities by means of the educational process.
It is shown that creativity is a controversial phenomenon, which involves psycho-emotional, physiological and neurophysiological processes. It is closely linked with such psychological and personal characteristics as intelligence, attention, imagination, memory, self confidence, skills, ability to analyze, synthesize and integrate information; ability to make details and choose from the obtained elements the one or ones that can be the basis for creating something new. Also motivation, self-esteem, self-worth, leadership qualities, flexibility of thinking are important. All these qualities can be developed in the process of education and training. Therefore, the question of pedagogical and educational methods that promote the development of a child’s creativity, unconventional, unordinary thinking is researched. It is shown that creativity can and should be developed; it is not directly related to the level of intelligence. The view that the expression of creativity does not dependent on the self-esteem, but largely depends on the created institution environment that is favorable for the development of innovative thinking and students’ creativity skills is grounded. The idea that the phenomenon of creativity is a necessary condition for personal development is substantiated. The manifestation of creativity as a way of self-expression in the modern world is becoming more urgent and important, and this must be considered in the educational process.
