AGGRESSIVENESS IN THE STRUCTURE OF THE STUDENT’S PERSONALITY IN THE HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS OF PHYSICAL CULTURE AND SPORT PROFILE

The article deals with the analyses of the main types of aggression that are manifested by students of higher educational institutions of physical culture and sport. The study examines results of second year students of the Faculty of Sports of Lviv State University of Physical Culture, a total of 54 people. Among the surveyed there were 55,6% of women and 44,4% of men.
Psychodiagnostics studied representatives of the following sport activities: choreography (24% of the sample as a whole), football (24%), athletics (10%), volleyball (7%), fencing (105), weightlifting (5%), boxing 8%). In smaller numbers the research examined bow archers, judoists and karateist. Among the respondents there are masters of sports, candidates for masters of sports and students with sports categories.
One of the manifestations of students’ high aggression is hostility. A high index of hostility is diagnosed in almost every second female student (43,3%) and every third male student (30,7%). A highly hostility of a sportsman directly affects the quality of his performing functional duties, the state of physical and mental health, because this personal quality is closely related to conflicts and stress in interpersonal relationships.
The most optimal in sports activity is the average index of hostility, since aggressiveness performs the protection function. This figure is observed only in 10,0% of women and 38,4% of men. Aggressive individuals increase their hostility with the increase of activity threat, because in this way the individual protects himself from the influence of an unfavorable environment. Low hostility index was recorded in 47,0% of female students and 30,9% of male students. The high degree of hostility was also diagnosed, both in the sample as a whole, and in the individual specialties.
In the study of suspicion, as the form of aggression, it was found that this figure among men is recorded more often (in 50% of cases). These respondents are characterized with instability of an emotional state, increased excitability, depression, accentuation of the excitatory type.
According to the indicators of physical aggression, men dominate. Among them, 27% of respondents are highly aggressive, among women – 16,6% of those surveyed. Only 15,3% of men and 26,8% of women are lowly aggressive. In general, a significant contingent, up to 57%, has an average physical aggression.
