THE ROLE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS OF THE STATE EMERGENCY SERVICE OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article examines the role of psychological support in higher education institutions of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine as an important component of professional training for future civil protection specialists. The relevance of the study is обусловлена increasing demands for individuals’ psychological readiness to perform in conditions of heightened risk, uncertainty, and psycho-emotional stress, especially under martial law and frequent emergency situations. The essence of the concept of “psychological support” is analyzed within the context of the educational environment and professional training in higher education institutions of the SES of Ukraine. Its main functions are identified, including diagnostic, preventive, corrective-developmental, consultative, and educational. It is substantiated that psychological support acts as a systemic process aimed at developing psychological resilience, emotional self-regulation, communicative competence, and the ability to make effective decisions under stress. Special attention is paid to the specifics of organizing psychological support in higher education institutions of the SES, which are обусловлені the professional orientation of training, the need to combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills in extreme conditions, and the integration of psychological and pedagogical technologies into the educational process. The importance of psychological support at all stages of training is emphasized–from adaptation to the learning environment to the formation of readiness for professional activity. It is concluded that an effective system of psychological support in higher education institutions of the SES is a necessary condition for the development of a professionally competent, psychologically resilient, and wellprepared civil protection specialist capable of operating in special conditions. Prospects for further research are associated with the development of innovative psychological support programs and the implementation of modern technologies, in particular VR training, in the process of professional education.
