USE OF THE LATEST TECHNOLOGIES IN THE COMBAT CRIMES RELATED TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING, UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF THE STATE OF MARTIAL

Abstract

The article examines the specifics of combating crimes related to human trafficking under martial law. Dialectical, statistical, system-structural and formal-logical methods were used to achieve the specified goal. It is emphasized that during the Russian-Ukrainian war, a new risk group appeared – forced migrants or internally displaced persons from the war zone. Since the beginning of the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the units of the migration police established cooperation with European partners, in particular, the Migration Police Department under the auspices of Europol, together with the law enforcement agencies of the European Union countries, created an international information platform in a 24/7 mode. As part of cooperation with European partners, operations were carried out to combat child trafficking, begging, sexual and labor exploitation. The Netherlands hosted an EMPACT day of joint action targeting criminal networks that use websites and social media platforms to recruit victims for sexual exploitation. It is noted that the joint efforts of law enforcement agencies in monitoring platforms that may offer sexual services, recruitment, and hiding or transporting victims contribute to criminal intelligence. It is emphasized that the issue of developing the competences of police officers to effectively ensure their professional activities in the conditions of martial law and the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine's economy is of great importance in the preparation of employees of operational units of the National Police to combat crimes related to human trafficking and other crimes of a general criminal nature. Acquiring these competencies is possible only if students of higher education acquire knowledge, skills and abilities during the educational process at a higher education institution and consolidate them during practice and internships in practical units of the National Police.
