Abstract

Abstract. A police officer is a full-fledged representative of his community (which takes over part of the funding of his work), and reports directly not only to his superiors, but also to his community. Police officers perform the rights and duties assigned to them in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine and other current laws of Ukraine. It is not for nothing that the institution of legal responsibility of a community police officer is an integral component of the legal status of such an officer, since strict observance and strengthening of state, official discipline and legality during the performance of official duties is one of the most important tasks of internal affairs officers. The peculiarity of offenses committed by a police officer is the presence of increased danger, since the interests of the state, law and order, as well as the rights and freedoms of citizens are directly affected, and therefore should be accompanied by an increased degree of legal responsibility. The legal responsibility of entities that provide personnel potential of community police officers is a complex and important aspect of legal regulation. This special legal status arises at the time of hiring employees and is aimed at ensuring that they fulfill their official and labor duties, as well as comply with established legal restrictions. The responsibility of subjects is a necessary element of the system of regulation of law enforcement activities. It integrates all other aspects of the legal status of these employees and establishes the presence of possible violations in the process of performing their official duties. A community police officer, like any other law enforcement officer, may be subject to various types of legal liability, including criminal, administrative, civil and disciplinary liability. However, it is important to take into account that there are specifics regarding the application of administrative sanctions in relation to community police officers, which are provided for by the current legislation. For example, some types of administrative sanctions, such as community service, correctional work and administrative arrest, may be prohibited in relation to them. This particular approach to the legal responsibility of police officers reflects the importance of ensuring that they perform their duties responsibly and effectively in the area of maintaining law and order and community safety.
